The Ministry of Defense has published data regarding the fire situation in the country over the last 24 hours.

According to reports, 58 fires have been reported in the past 24 hours, of which only one remains active.

The fire is active in a forest area with pine and mixed vegetation, in the village of Markatomaj, administrative unit of Zejmen, municipality of Lezha. 4 fire trucks with relevant personnel and residents of the area have gone to the scene and have worked and isolated the fire at around 05:45. Work continues to extinguish the logs within the area affected by the fire, which, aided by the wind, occasionally ignite.

Over the last 24 hours, 58 fires have been reported, of which only one still remains active.

According to reports from the National Civil Emergency Operations Center, 8 fires have been reported in the Lezha region, which were extinguished within a few hours.

In the Berat district, 5 active outbreaks have been reported during the last 24 hours, which have been neutralized.

In the Gjirokastra district, the 2 reported outbreaks have been extinguished in the last few hours.

In the Fier region, all 8 reported fires have been extinguished, mainly in areas with bushes and vegetation.

In the Elbasan region, 3 fires were neutralized in the area with vegetation in the villages of Petresh, Labinot Fushë and Kodër Bujaras.

In the Tirana region, 12 fires have been reported, in the municipalities of Tirana, Kavaja, Rogozhina, which have mainly been on the surface with vegetation. All of these fires have been neutralized in time. One of the fires was reported in the “Zyber Hallulli” children's home, in a room on the fourth floor of the building. The fire was extinguished within a few minutes, while there was only material damage.

5 fires were reported in the Durrës region, which were also isolated by forces on the ground.

Two outbreaks were reported in the Shkodra and Korca regions and three outbreaks in Vlora. All were quickly neutralized.

But as a result of these fires, about 32 hectares of vegetation have been burned, as well as a considerable area of ??oak, walnut, and olive roots.

85 firefighting vehicles, 557 operational forces, 1 firefighting vehicle with 5 personnel and 1 helicopter from the Armed Forces were deployed in the firefighting operations.

According to the forecasts of the Institute of Geosciences, a "HIGH" risk level is expected for today in the regions of Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana and Fier, while a "MODERATE" risk level is expected in the other regions.

All Civil Protection structures remain engaged in monitoring the situation due to high temperatures.
