"A paradise adorned with white sand"/ 'The Telegraph' writes

The prestigious British media outlet 'The Telegraph' has ranked Albania in first place in an article regarding tourism in Mediterranean countries.

“From the Byzantine churches of Ohrid to the bustling streets of Sozopol’s old town, Eastern Europe is full of destinations that combine natural beauty and culture. What’s more, it’s also home to stunning beaches, with fewer crowds than other places in the Mediterranean.

Getting to these enchanting beaches is only getting easier, with around 1,500 direct flights departing from UK airports each week to Eastern Europe, according to OAG data, most of them less than three hours, on low-cost airlines.

The following alternative, simple beach breaks are suitable for a long weekend or a bigger adventure. From sea to lake, river to waterfall, these are the best beach breaks in Eastern Europe,” writes The Telegraph.

'The Telegraph' describes the country's natural beauty, stunning coastline and highlights the possibility of low-cost holidays:

1. Ksamil Islands, Albania

Albania's "Ionian Pearl" lies just over the water from the Greek island of Corfu. Four idyllic spots in southern Albania, the Ksamil Islands are a white-sand paradise that has largely escaped the attention of international beachgoers. They are accessible only by a 30-minute boat ride (by plane to Tirana or Corfu) or by an energetic swim, if you need to burn off a delicious cheese-filled pie. Most visitors choose to stay in the nearby village of Ksamil and take the opportunity to also visit Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site, national park and ancient city with ruins dating back to the 7th century BC. /CNA
