Security measures from investigations/ Head of SPAK gives figures: 110 people in

The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Klodjan Braho, today focused on data from SPAK's work regarding the security measures that have been implemented at the institution level throughout 2025.

While speaking at the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Braho said that last year, a total of 110 security measures were imposed, of which 15 for corruption and 93 for organized crime.

Braho further focused on unexecuted and alternative measures, while emphasizing that the courts are fully informed about the cases.

As for the highest measure, "prison arrest", Braho said that they are checked every two months by the courts, as well as by the provisions made by law, excluding special cases that justify further extension of the measure.

"Regarding security measures, we have presented the data in the report that were applied to persons under investigation during 2025. 110 security measures of imprisonment have been imposed at the institution level, 15 of them for corruption, 93 for organized crime. 65 measures are unexecuted, of which 5 are related to the criminal offense of the corruption group. The other number that concerns security measures, 29 with house arrest, 78 with alternative measures and 152 people are without security measures. The data on what has been decided by the court is not included in the report, but will be reflected. The measure of imprisonment is reviewed every two months and the court informs about the continuation of the investigation phase. The court has all the necessary information. Regarding the measure of 'prison arrest', the law does not justify unjustified extensions, beyond special needs and cases. This deadline is controlled by the court and what is foreseen by the law", said Braho. /CNA
