Besmir Gjezari has been released today thanks to the Criminal Amnesty Bill. In an interview after his release from prison, Gjezari stated that he was unjustly convicted by making accusations against a judicial police officer, Mariglen Beqo.

Gjezari stated that he was not allowed to meet his family, and stressed that they have also been threatened with death.

"I have been accused of narcotics, production and sale of narcotics. I have been sentenced to five years in prison. I served two years and seven months. And I have not been caught with anything. Because I have a minor child, aged 3 and I have left him for almost a year, a year and a half, and I have not met him, I have not seen him. He has also received pressure and threats from people in the justice system, and I feel very threatened and endangered, as do my family. I am threatened with my life, as do my family. They have returned personal things to me. For what, the judicial police officer, because I don't know and I still don't understand why, the reason. What has the lack of meeting with my family for two years here, the meetings with my people affected? I don't understand what the vaki has done here.
