One step closer to Brussels/ Germany welcomes Albania's progress in

The German Embassy in Tirana has welcomed the provisional closure of the first three chapters in Albania's negotiation process with the European Union.

In an official reaction after the ninth Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference, the embassy described this development as an important step on the country's European path.

According to the German diplomatic mission, the closure of Chapters 25, 26 and 30 demonstrates Albania's progress in aligning with European Union policies, particularly in the areas of scientific research, innovation, education, culture and economic security.

Germany appreciated the work done by the Albanian authorities to reach this moment and encouraged them to continue with the same approach for the other negotiation chapters.

The Embassy emphasized that further progress will depend on continuing reforms and achieving concrete results, especially in fundamental areas related to European Union standards.

“We welcome the ninth Intergovernmental Conference with Albania and the provisional closure of Chapters 25, 26 and 30 - the first chapters to be closed on Albania's path towards the EU. This demonstrates Albania's readiness to integrate into key EU policy areas, to deepen cooperation in scientific research and innovation, to promote closer educational and cultural relations and to contribute to strengthening the EU's economic security.

We appreciate the efforts undertaken by the Albanian authorities to reach this historic milestone and encourage them to maintain this positive momentum in further work on the remaining chapters. We are confident that Albania will build on this progress, continue its reform course with the same determination and achieve concrete and sustainable results - also in the area of ??Fundamentals.

"We confirm our support for Albania's European perspective and expect further progress in the accession process, based on its achievements and the fulfillment of the agreed criteria," the German Embassy in Tirana said in a public statement./ CNA
