Closing of EU chapters on education and scientific research, Kumbaro: Fruit of

Albania successfully closed the first three chapters of Integration at the 9th Albania - EU Intergovernmental Conference.

“The closure of negotiations on Chapter 25 'Science and Scientific Research' and Chapter 26 'Education and Culture', in addition to being a technical success in the integration process, is above all proof that when vision is accompanied by intensive work, results come.”

This was stated by the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, part of the delegation headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the successful conclusion of negotiations on the two chapters, describing this as an important moment for Albania's European journey.

The Minister emphasized that this achievement is the fruit of a long process, with reforms, intensive work and continuous commitment of the Ministry of Education teams, underlining that education was the area that paved the way for the closure of the negotiation chapters with the European Union.

In her message, Kumbaro appreciated the support and appreciation given by Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, considering it a confirmation of Albania's progress in the field of education.

"Thank you to Commissioner Marta Kos, who highlighted the creation of the National Agency for Educational Services as a success among the achievements of the Ministry of Education, alongside many initiatives and reforms carried out."

Kumbaro also thanked her predecessors in this position for their work and commitment to this process.

"Gratitude to all the Education teams that have negotiated and contributed to this process, as well as to my four ministerial colleagues, Lindita Nikolla, Besa Shahini, Evis Kushi and Ogerta Manastirliu, who made this last stage much easier for me, but also to every colleague who contributed to this journey, often away from public attention, but always with the conviction that working for education is the best investment for European Albania", said Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro./ CNA
