"I lived with predetermined guilt"/ Mirlinda Karçanaj

Former AKSHIT director Mirlinda Karçanaj has spoken for the first time since the accusations by SPAK and her arrest, following investigations into tender abuses. Invited to Top Channel, Karçanaj said that she did not choose silence, but she did not have the opportunity to speak.

She said that during this time she lived as a name in a mess and not as a person.

Regarding investigations, Karçanaj said that every process should be investigated, but not by humiliating the person.

 

"I did not choose to remain silent, but I found it impossible to speak. I suddenly found myself in a world that I was unprepared for, a world turned upside down. I lived locked not only within four walls, but with that loneliness of predetermined guilt, stoned from all sides. But also with the responsibility of a mother who had to protect my children, when I could not protect myself. I lived as a name in a file and not as a person who has the right to protect herself.

I did not come here to blame anyone, but for treating me like a person I am not. I want to emphasize that every process must be investigated, every responsibility verified, but not by humiliating whoever that person is.

"How can I be innocent when my story has been told by all those who don't know what this story is like? When I haven't been asked about all the black that has been publicly put on me ," said Karçanaj.

 

We recall that initially the security measure "House arrest" was imposed on Karçanaj, while a few days ago, the Supreme Court changed it to "Compulsory appearance" and "Prohibition on leaving the country".
