IGJEUM: Weekend with thunderstorms and rainfall in all regions of the country

The Institute of Geosciences has shared a forecast regarding meteorological conditions for the weekend.

According to the data, all regions of the country will be dominated by unstable conditions, with thunderstorms and rainfall, which will vary in intensity according to the areas.

Also, the weekend will bring lower temperatures and wind, mainly on the coast.

Precipitation:

This afternoon and tomorrow, Saturday, May 9, moderate to locally intense rainfall is expected in the districts of Dibër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan, Vlorë and Gjirokastër. Moderate rainfall is expected in the districts of Fier, Berat and Korçë, while light to locally heavy rainfall is expected in the other districts. The rainfall is expected to be in the form of thunderstorms in most districts.

Storms and high rainfall intensity can create various problems, such as landslides and flooding in localized urban areas, depending on the sewage system in the regions of Dibër, Lezhë, Durrës, Vlorë and Gjirokastër.

Temperature:

Minimum and maximum air temperatures are expected to reach:

on the coast: 15 / 19 °C

in lowlands: 14 / 17 °C

in mountainous areas: 9 / 15 °C

Wind:

This afternoon and tomorrow, the wind is expected to blow moderately to strongly, mainly on the coast. /CNA
