The assassination that took the life of Kudret Saliaj / The Supreme Court overturns the life sentence for the perpetrator

The Supreme Court has overturned the decision of the Court of Appeal regarding the life imprisonment sentence for Mexhit Picari.

Picari is accused of murdering his son-in-law, Kudret Saliaj, on June 4, 2021.

The Supreme Court has ordered that the case be tried by the Court of Appeal with another panel of judges.

This decision came after the appeal made by lawyer AC, who was injured in the June 2021 incident.

For the murder of Kudret Saliaj, the Court of Appeal in 2023 sentenced Mexhi Picari to life imprisonment and Dhurata Saliaj to 4.6 years in prison.

Mexhit Picari shot and killed 41-year-old Kudret Saliaj, just minutes before the fifth court session of the divorce process between him and Dhurata Saliaj.
