Korça police immerse themselves in corruption or intimidated by Ben Blushi?!

The scandal that took place in Korça, at midnight on December 24, on the eve of Christmas, was denounced in the media for 3 days, where a party with over 200 people was organized in ?Pub Republika?. While all Albania is in isolation due to the coronavirus, Ben Blushi?s ?Pub Republic? has ignored every possible measure, turning it into a ?time bomb? for the health of many people.

It was a denunciation of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha that mobilized the police to intervene. Numerous police forces went to the premises of the restaurant ?Pub Republika?, where they found the presence of hundreds of people, demanding the immediate cessation of music, the departure of customers, and the closure of the bar.

CNA.al inquired the next day with the police spokeswoman, Erlida Bregasi, who refused to provide information about the event. We officially addressed the Director of Korça Police, Ferdinad Mara, asking for information about the event as every day the police report on hundreds of citizens fined with 30.000 Lek for not wearing the mask, or businesses that have been fined with millions of Lek, because have developed activities contrary to anti-Covid measures.

Thursday evening at ?Pub Republika? in Korça, is owned by Ben Blushi?s daughter and used by his relatives, there were over 200 people celebrating, but after the denunciation of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, no announcement was made by the police.

CNA.al called the Director of Police in Korça, who as soon as he heard the question about the scandal, didn?t hesitate to hang up the phone in a shameful and offensive way. So this is the Albanian state police, journalists contact her to ask about a scandalous event, and she hangs up. This is the culture that the State Police reflects today.

On the other hand, we sent him a message with some questions to ask for the full information, but both the spokesperson and the Director of Police refused to provide this information. What measures were taken for ?Pub Republika?, where at the height of the pandemic a party was organized with over 200 people inside? If no action is taken, why? Who protects this business from being fined by law, and is the police involved in a corruption scandal? This behavior is intended to pass the scandal in silence.

Thursday evening they were about 200 people who were celebrating in the premises of ?Pub Republika? after the allowed time 20:30. Meanwhile, according to the law, all persons who were part of this activity should have been fined, and the most extreme measures provided by law for the organizer of the event should have been taken. There are two scandals involving the State Police in this event. The first is not providing information as it is involved in a corruption scandal, because all suspicions can be raised that certain police exponents have received money from the owners of the bar to continue the activity, and it was intervened only because of Sali Berisha?s denunciation.

On the other hand, someone has intimidated the Korça police, the first district director and then the entire management pyramid, because there was a scandal, a ?health bomb? at the height of the pandemic and no one takes any action, just close the bar and leave. And if that were the case, then no other bar should be fined, as happens every day, but the police should have only an advisory role. In this case the law enforcement didn?t have an advisory role but had to take action. So the police there are either involved in corruption, or someone has intimidated her.

We emphasize that two weeks ago the police fined a number of citizens with about 50 million Lek, for participating in a protest. The police were very disturbed and fined because it was spreading pandemic, although protests took place outside the city hall in an open environment. On the other hand in the case of Ben Blush?s bar, there were more people than in the protest, the party was taking place indoors, and again no action was taken.
