Serbia puts "pressure" on Albania, first European team in the World Cup is official

While Albania was playing its friendly match against Jordan, two important matches were played in Group K of the World Cup qualifiers.

England mathematically secured first place in the group after a 5-0 victory over Latvia, becoming the first European team to secure participation in the 2026 World Cup.

In the next match, Andorra faced Serbia in a match of importance for Albania's ranking.

The home team took the lead first, but after just two minutes the score was tied after an own goal by Garcia.

In the second half, Serbia turned the game around with a goal by Vlahovic, while the final score of 3-1 was sealed after a penalty awarded in the last minutes. With this victory, Serbia narrows the gap with Albania to just one point and remains a direct rival in the race for qualification to the 2026 World Cup play-off stage.
