No Vinicius-Real renewal

Contract renewal negotiations between Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid have been blocked, despite talks starting in February 2025.

The Brazilian is tied to the club until June 2027 and currently earns around 17 million euros per season. The player's camp is demanding a salary increase of up to 20 million euros fixed and bonuses that would take the figure to 30 million euros, but Real's offer stops at only 20 million without add-ons.

Vinícius' representatives have decided to wait and see what role coach Xabi Alonso will give him in the 2025-26 season. Doubts were raised after Alonso's ideas of leaving him on the bench in a crucial match, even though tactical changes kept him on the pitch. Interest from Saudi Arabia has cooled.

Although the player was rated individually in 2024, his last season was considered disappointing and this could influence the decision on his future. The final decision is expected to be postponed for a few months, depending on his and the team's performances.
