Bad news for Conte, Napoli loses Lukaku for four months

Romelu Lukaku will be out for at least four months after a serious left thigh injury suffered in the friendly against Olympiacos.

Medical examinations at the Pineta Grande Hospital confirmed a high muscle injury, forcing the striker to immediately begin the rehabilitation phase and consult for surgical intervention. Napoli is thus left without its main center forward, forcing coach Antonio Conte to face the start of the season with only one available striker, Lorenzo Luça.

The club's management have immediately started looking for an alternative in the transfer market. Among the names being considered are Joshua Zirkzee, who plays for Manchester United but has limited space, as well as Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is expected to leave Al-Hilal.

Napoli are looking for a quick solution to avoid being left without alternatives in the attacking department. This problem comes on the eve of the first matches of the championship and the debut in the Champions League.
