Summer fires/ Rama: We are facing a great challenge, no one has found the cure

Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the "For you, nature" activity, where he spoke about the fires during the summer season in Albania.

During his speech, Rama emphasized that the need for courageous intervention and maximum commitment is great, not only in terms of institutional reforms, but also in the care and attention to forests and nature.

He underlined that no one has found a "cure" that prevents the colossal damage caused by fires, adding that repeating actions without results is not an option.

"We are in another great challenge, which we have all seen, especially during the summer season when temperatures rise; it is the challenge with fires. The need to intervene with much more courage, both in terms of reform, as well as in commitment and attention to forests, is great. No one, anywhere, has found a cure for fires that, when they come, cause colossal damage. We cannot keep repeating the same thing, even though it may have had results," said Rama./CNA
