The Albanian government has approved the addition of a new typology of beach management.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, said today after the government meeting that this concerns public beaches managed by local self-government units.
According to this decision, these beaches will offer umbrellas, sunbeds and hygiene services to vacationers, through a fee that varies based on the type of beach and the number of vacationers.
"We have an important innovation this year, regarding beach management, to make it possible to have a regulator in the market regarding prices. A new typology is being added: public beaches managed by local self-government units. These are beaches that have all the services, namely umbrellas, sun loungers and hygiene and shower services, which in some municipalities are charged. This was done because depending on the type of beach and the number of vacationers, the costs of maintaining beaches are very high", said the minister./CNA
