The head of the SP Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, spoke to the media after the end of the Conference of Speakers, where the DP's request for a motion with debate in the Assembly on the protesters' demands was rejected.

Balla said that the opposition should not request a motion with debate for the government's resignation but should request a motion of no confidence.

According to him, the opposition must collect at least 28 signatures of MPs and a candidate for prime minister to request a no-confidence motion.

"The way the request was formulated was that Berisha's party would come to the Assembly to demand 1, 2, 3 things. I am so serious in evaluating the demands that are on the square. The overthrow of the government was the first point. I told him that you have undertaken to bring the protesters' request to the Assembly to demand their resignation. It is not requested with a motion with debate but with a motion of no confidence. 28 deputies are needed, they reach this number because they have that many. According to the law, they must bring the signatures and the candidate for prime minister. Can you bring Sali Berisha as a candidate for prime minister? Let's take it into consideration. If you can't go to a motion with debate and demand the resignation of the government. We have been in power for so many years, this opposition has not come with a motion of no confidence, let it come now ," he said.

Among other things, he said that he does not consider the DP to be representative in discussions on issues related to the protest.

"I do not approach Sali Berisha's party as a representative on issues related to the protest. This party is the only one in the country that should not speak about this protest. This party is a party that God knows how it ended up in this position that tells protesters not to mention the mayor's name and then sends people to protest ," said Balla. /CNA
