Democrat Dorjan Teliti focused today on the opposition's confrontation with the socialist majority.
In a television appearance, Teliti stated that the 44 protests held in front of Tirana City Hall resulted in productivity, as the DP's objective of removing the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, from office was achieved.
According to Teliti, the opposition has never stopped and that protests remain the only way to overthrow the current government, which he accused of numerous violations and abuses.
"The Albanian opposition has held many protests over the past 13 years. Some have been productive, some not so much. 44 protests in front of the Tirana Municipality have been successful. We did not stop for a moment. Now is the time to become the only way to overthrow the current government, where today the violations and abuses that have been committed are great. What needs to be said today is the awareness that we must raise among citizens, the information that we must provide through our meetings. As is being done these days that we are talking about. When we explain to citizens what really happened, the Balluk thefts, the situation then becomes different. Representatives of the opposition, since its leadership, have said that the opposition needs to improve itself. So that we need to improve ourselves is an undeniable fact and no one denies this. This improvement process has its own phases. We are in the process of internal analysis. Even this Pulpit in its own protest format. Even that of the municipality that everyone was laughing at, she kept the topic of the Tirana Municipality alive. Our objective was to remove Veliaj from office, it was achieved, but we have not achieved the removal of the Veliaj model. The DP has its own leadership, it needs to be enriched by people coming from abroad. But the DP, like any party that is free and different opinions are welcome", said Teliti./ CNA
