A news story appeared in the media yesterday about the reconstruction of the oncology ward at QSUNT. It was the Minister of Health who showed off the reconstructed premises, but also the new armchairs that had been purchased for patients.

"From day one, my commitment has been complete, so that oncology is a permanent priority. The service provided here touches the lives of many families and requires continuous support. This investment is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and our partners," said the minister.

Thank goodness they put a minister in place who knows very well what that horror is – I was thinking – to improve something. Then, a few hours later, in the media, the news came out that the entire investment in oncology was private charity.

A normal official would say: we thank the business for the contribution. The government will do everything it can to improve the difficult situation of oncology, but we also encourage other businesses to join us with contributions according to their capabilities, because healthcare is an issue that affects us all. But our minister does not say this. She says: it is my commitment.

Now, where was the minister's commitment to this work? If it were up to the government, the situation there would still be like this, patients would continue to be tortured on their feet, as they have done for years.

Now, why do these people have these complexes? Because they see business either as a partner in theft, or as a cow to steal. They cannot conceive of it any other way, that government and business can also do good things for people.

And to think, in the new government, the Minister of Health was the most prominent appointment. She came from an academic career in the most prestigious hospitals in the world and had no blemish on her integrity.

But these people, as soon as they become part of Rilindja, are infected by the virus. They come out, recite everything in front of the cameras like announcers, do propaganda and even insert lies or half-truths. That's not the problem in this case, that this lie is harmless.

But when they lie about this, imagine what they do about more embarrassing things, or when they have to share and steal money?
