Instead of an epilogue...

In the elections we just held, out of respect for my and my family's contribution to the DP, I decided to accept the position of member and then chair of CEAZ 39, even though I had no shortage of dilemmas (the time I would take from my profession, my family, and my son, who is graduating this year).

Of course, the journey was not easy, with experiences that became more difficult as the day of May 11 approached. Fortunately for me, the work in the team went very well thanks to the dynamism, citizenship and integrity of the excellent members of the CEAZ Albana, Indriti, Arjona, Arbri, Dashi, etc.

And then May 11th came. A day that lasted 24 hours in motion, from 6:00 AM on May 11th to 6:00 AM on the 12th. An intense day that included debates with empty-headed militants in schoolyards, demands for accountability from above, long hours on foot, cooperation with the police to verify the photographing of the vote on two occasions. And when it seemed that everything was over, of course with the exception of the election result that kept coming and coming and causing me to be bored to the point of bursting into tears, I was wrong.

The counting was the true ordeal of the CEAZs. A clash with the vain arrogance and conceit of the candidates for deputies of both political parties, pity for the counters and operators who were working for hours under double pressure from the CEAZ and the mediocre observers of the candidates.

These lines are precisely for them, for the silent and unappreciated heroes of these elections, for Evi, Gerti, Erioni, Xhorxhia, Jetmira, Benardi, Primani, etc. For those who stayed at their desks for about 3 days, with only a few minutes' break to eat, in the premises of a gym without ventilation or air conditioning, for those who patiently explained each vote evaluation to the sly observers beyond the security cordon.

I have waited over 40 days for these words, I waited patiently for the recount to officially confirm what I knew well in the early hours of May 12. You were and are the best, the most persistent, the most honest and attentive readers of the vote. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your cooperation.

Finally, 2 words for those who may have criticized, cursed, or judged us for the counting process in the CEAZ.

We may not have been perfect, but we did this job with loyalty, maximum responsibility, even though our hearts were broken by the result. This table when the votes moved with minimal figures proves exactly that. For those dissatisfied who think differently, they are asked to find, I don't know where, a more perfect team next time./ CNA
