Luiz's letter to the Albanian people

Dear Albanians,

I hope this letter finds you safe and sound.

I feel honored and grateful for the support you have given me, but I am also worried.

I am glad that the attention to watch our game has affected the reduction of crimes, that even the criminal lords have neglected their jobs and are spending their time watching us.

They told me that in Tirana and the main cities the day after the shoot there is no pedestrian and car traffic at all. Our game has brought back "car-free days" every week.

But while thanking you warmly, I have to remind you that life has other problems, such as school, health, work, family and social relations.

Jeta nuk është televizion.

Me këtë rast kam edhe një lutje për dhjetëra televizionet që janë në Shqipëri. Ju lutem, ju përgjërohem bëni programe të mira që njerëzit të kenë se çfarë të shohin, ndryshe sytë e të gjithëve do të jenë vetëm tek ne.

Falenderoj qeverinë që gjatë këtyre javëve ka shpërthyer skandale pas skandalesh me synimin për t’i detyruar njerëzit të merren edhe me çështje të tjera. Por mesa duket aferat nuk paskan qenë aq të mëdha. Edhe rasti Mcgonigal nuk ka tundur shqiptarët nga interesi për mua dhe për lojën që po bëj.

Do të isha i lumtur nëse ashtu siç dolët në rrugë dhe sheshe dhe protestuat për mua, të protestoni edhe për hallet e problemet që keni.

Nuk më erdhi hiç mirë kur mësova se më shumë jeni shqetësuar për mua sesa për termetin në Turqi!

People have always been wrong in their youth and free time! I remind you that the time you think you have in abundance, you can also spend reading a book, watching a movie or theater, going for a walk, hanging out with each other or with yourself, playing, watching a football match …

You don't understand how good I feel when they tell me that you see me eating, talking, cooking, singing, even sleeping. While I have my mind on the depopulation of Albania, on the upcoming elections, on high prices, on the problems of corruption, terrorism, global warming and obviously on the war in Ukraine!

They do not wish in vain: may God not leave us without trouble and the truth is that trouble does not resemble trouble!
