The shame of a prosecution/ From 45 years in prison for the Freedom Fighters!

But the man of oppression, who has stolen the post of prime minister, has sunk in up to his neck and is trying to take the whole country with him. The first sign of the disease that grips the corrupt elites is denial. Today's meeting of the SP group and its decisions are the purest form of political despair.
In three points, Rama does three things that a free man would never do: he threatens SPAK (with the US and EU openly supporting the special prosecution), tries to signal to Balluk that he will not sell out, and threatens all of Albania with blocking European integration. But it is out of time. Tragically out of time.
All these interventions to save the stolen millions would have made sense six months ago. Maybe even a year ago. Today they are useless. You and those who stand next to you do not understand that, even if you dissolve SPAK today, the file that has been investigated as much as it has already been investigated has exposed you along with Balluk. The other file has exposed you completely. Your messages are there. The tenders won by them are there. They have been exposed. Understand it or not: you are caught, Edi Rama.
The second point, with which you seek to defend Balluk through the cartoons of "useful idiots" who you have elected as deputies, is even more deeply depressing. Because Balluk, as you and she know, is no longer defending himself. But you try to equate the entire party with theft. And in fact you are right: you are all thieves. But your real despair is that you think that your voters are thieves too. This is a classic symptom of a mind rotten by power: when you project your oppression onto the entire society.
No. You and your gang are thieves. Your voters may be deluded, poor, even ideologically blind.
And that's why the ground is slipping away from under your feet.
The third point is the most serious, because it is no longer about you and your gang, but about Albania. You think that with the power of cardboard boxes, with stolen votes, with the money of corruption, you can become a barricade for the European integration of the country. This is the last reflex of every regime that is falling: to take the future of the nation hostage to save its own skin.
But theft is a sin condemned since the time of the pharaohs. There is no law that can legalize it. There is no reform that can cleanse it. Every threat you make today, every step you take tomorrow that harms Albania's European integration, only deepens the hole you have sunk yourself into. Albania is part of Europe and has chosen this path since 1992, when we demolished your first house. You cannot stop this process. Just as your kind could not stop it thirty years ago. You know this. Even those you call in English know it. Even those who refuse your promises know it.
Tomorrow you will see in the middle of Tirana why Albania is Europe. That Albanians are not thieves and they do not love oppressors.
Our ancestors were right: only freedom is the solution. And you, since 1945, have never been free. Once you held the country hostage with punishments, exiles and bloody rule, because you were hostage to crimes for power. Today you try to take the country back hostage with theft and corruption, because you are hostage to your oppression.
But this is futile. These are other years. These are other times. Today the future of Albania is determined.
Rama, this is no longer politics, this is the end of the regime. Choose to leave, or you will fall into the filth pit you yourself have dug./ CNA
