Trafficking illegal immigrants/ 25-year-old man from Sudan arrested

The structures of the Korça Local Directorate for Border and Migration have successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "Itinerary 3", as part of measures to prevent and crack down on illegal activities at the border.

As a result of the investigations and intensified operational work, citizen MS, 25 years old, resident of Darfur, Sudan, was arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of providing assistance in return for payment to immigrants attempting to move illegally towards European Union countries.

The investigative actions show that the 25-year-old, in collaboration with other persons suspected of being in Greece, helped two immigrants cross illegally from Greece into Albanian territory, through the green border in the Devoll area.

The two irregular immigrants were identified by the services of the Criminal Investigation Sector at the Korça DVKM, on Mount Morava.

The police announce that work continues to fully document the event and identify other persons involved, with the aim of holding them criminally liable./ CNA
