Convicted and charged with several criminal offenses/ Three people extradited

Three people have been extradited from Denmark, France and Italy as part of Operation “The Wanted”. According to police information, these three people are convicted or accused of various criminal offenses.

Specifically, a 28-year-old man with three identities was extradited from Denmark, to whom the Elbasan Court had imposed the security measure of "prison arrest." He had been sentenced by a Norwegian court to 13 years in prison for several criminal offenses.

A 25-year-old man, sentenced by the Tirana Court to 8 months in prison, has been extradited from France. Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man with two identities has been extradited from Italy, after the Fier Court had imposed the security measure "Arrest with prison".

Other phases of the international police operation codenamed "The Wanted" are being finalized, to locate and bring to justice citizens declared internationally wanted. 

3 citizens, convicted/charged with various criminal offenses, are being extradited from Denmark, France and Italy.

As a result of the cooperation between Interpol Tirana specialists and counterparts, within the framework of the international operation codenamed "The Wanted", the procedures for the extradition to Albania of 3 citizens who were internationally wanted were finalized. 

-The citizen DM alias D. Ç. alias OC, 28 years old, born in Elbasan, was extradited from Denmark.    

This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Elbasan Court, with the decision dated 18.07.2025, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Laundering the products of a criminal offense or criminal activity".  

Citizen DM was sentenced by the Court of Kristiansand, Norway, to 13 years in prison for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in narcotics" as part of a criminal organization, "Forgery of documents" and "Theft of electricity". 

Based on the materials sent by the Norwegian authorities and the investigations conducted by the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, unjustified assets (property) have been found in his name and those of his family members.

-Citizen Ch. R., 25 years old, born in the USA, was extradited from France.

This citizen was declared an international wanted person, after the Tirana Court, with the decision dated 05.11.2024, sentenced him to 8 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons". 

In June 2024, at Rinas Airport, during a scanner check, 2 cold weapons (metal knives) were found in this citizen's suitcases. 

-The citizen GM alias GH, 39 years old, born in Berat, was extradited from Italy.

This citizen was declared an international wanted person, after the Fier Court, with the decision dated 13.07.2024, assigned him the security measure "Arrest with imprisonment", for the criminal offense of "Fraud".

This citizen is accused of having taken a sum of money from citizen Gj. K., deceiving him by saying that he would help him go to Italy illegally.

Cooperation with counterparts continues for the localization, capture and extradition of other citizens declared internationally wanted. / CNA
