Another phase of the international operation codenamed "The Wanted" was successfully finalized, bringing about the extradition from Germany to Albania of the internationally wanted citizen, EL, 35 years old, born in Tropoja.

Citizen EL is suspected of having, together with other members of a criminal group, committed computer fraud through a call center that caused citizens damage of approximately 187,000 euros. Investigations revealed 17 cases or attempted frauds, committed during 2024.

His arrest and extradition were achieved thanks to close cooperation between specialists from the Interpol Directorate in Albania and their counterparts from Interpol Wiesbaden in Germany.

In July 2025, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" to citizen EL, for the criminal offense of "Computer fraud", as part of the activity of a structured criminal group.

This operation once again demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation in the fight against organized crime and online fraud./ CNA
