The director of Rrogozhina prison, Bilal Hasa, has been released from prison.

Hasa surrendered to the police the day before after a drug house was discovered on his property, where 4,000 narcotic plants were cultivated.

It is learned that in his testimony to the police, Hasa denied having any knowledge of the "barber shop" in his apartment.

Earlier, the Directorate of Prisons suspended Hasa from duty, following media reports about the bar.

"The police operation codenamed "Kurtaj" is being finalized to crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants in closed environments using lamps."

The operation was carried out by the Directorate for Large-Scale Crimes at the General Directorate of the State Police, in cooperation with the Elbasan DVP and the Peqin Police Commissariat, under the direction of the Elbasan Prosecution Office.

Around 4,000 cannabis plants, lamps, neon signs and other electrical equipment are seized.

The owner of the premises is wanted.

The head of OSHEE for Peqin is also wanted for abuse of office.

Following the plan of measures to identify and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants in closed environments, based on information obtained through operational means, the Police services, within the framework of the police operation codenamed "Kurtaj", exercised control in the village of Kurtaj, Gjocaj administrative unit.

During the search, in the basement of a warehouse, 2 environments adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants using lamps were found, where around 4,000 cannabis plants had been cultivated.

The investigative actions resulted in the premises being owned by a BiH citizen, who was declared wanted.

Following the actions, citizen EM, responsible for OSHEE for the Peqin area, was also declared wanted for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

Police services continue their work to capture them.
