They crashed their cars into the minor who lost his life in Tirana/ Two people

Two people have been arrested in connection with the accident that occurred today on "Kastriotët" street in the capital, where a minor was fatally hit.

The two drivers involved in the accident have been arrested. According to police information, the minor was first hit by the vehicle driven by 55-year-old T.Sh., and then by the vehicle driven by 42-year-old V. K.

Both drivers fled the scene of the accident. The police statement states that the 55-year-old man, who transported the minor to the hospital, attempted to deny knowledge of the accident.

Police announcement:

Tirana/The perpetrators and circumstances of the accident that occurred this afternoon on "Kastriotët" street, resulting in the death of a minor, have been revealed.

The drivers of the 2 vehicles involved in this accident have been identified and arrested.

The 2 vehicles are found and seized.

As a result of the investigations conducted by the special group, immediately after the accident that occurred at around 11:20 on 24.02.2026, on "Kastriotët" street, as a result of which a 7-year-old lost his life, traffic specialists identified and arrested the suspected perpetrators of the case, citizens T. Sh., 55 years old, and VK, 42 years old.

From the investigative actions so far, it is suspected that the minor was initially hit by the vehicle driven by the 55-year-old and then by the vehicle driven by citizen VK.

Both drivers of the vehicles fled the scene of the accident.

During the investigation, the 55-year-old man, who transported the minor to the hospital, attempted to deny knowledge of the accident.

Investigations continue to individualize and document the criminal responsibility of each of those arrested.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
