Murder in Kavaja/ Perpetrator arrested with two identities

A serious incident occurred on the afternoon of February 21 in Kavaja, where a 48-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed several times during a conflict over weak motives.

According to official sources, at around 14:22, in neighborhood no. 3 of the city, citizen LD, alias LP, 48 years old, is suspected of having attacked citizen SV, alias SI, also 48 years old, with a cutting tool. As a result of the injuries sustained, the latter died.

Immediately after the incident, the suspected perpetrator fled the scene of the crime. The services of the Kavaja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the "Eagles" Special Forces and the Operational Forces of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, organized intensive checks to capture him.

After several hours of searching, the Police managed to locate and arrest the 48-year-old suspected perpetrator.

During the first investigative actions, the cutting tool (knife) suspected of being used in the murder was found and seized as material evidence.

Investigations continue under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, to fully clarify the circumstances and legally document the case.

The services of the Kavaja Police Commissariat, the "Eagles" Special Forces and the Durrës DVP Operational Forces, after several hours of searches and checks to capture the perpetrator of the murder with a cutting instrument of the 48-year-old, made it possible to locate, capture and arrest the citizen:

LD, alias LP, 48 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 3, Kavajë.

This citizen is suspected of having, on 21.02.2026, at around 14:22, in neighborhood no. 3, Kavajë, during a conflict for weak motives, stabbed several times with a cutting tool (knife) the citizen SV, alias SI, 48 years old, who died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The suspected perpetrator, after being struck with a cutting tool, left the apartment, but was caught after several hours of searches and checks by the Police services.

Also, during the first investigative actions and searches for material evidence, the investigative group found and seized as material evidence the cutting tool (knife), with which it is suspected that the perpetrator struck, resulting in the loss of life, 48-year-old SV, alias SI.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances and legally document the case.
