He used his wife's last name to evade deportation/ 42-year-old Albanian

The Carabinieri service of the Viserba station in Rimini in Italy has arrested a 42-year-old Albanian, who illegally returned to Italy despite having a previously executed deportation order.

The Albanian was arrested during a patrol on a secondary road in the Torre Pedrera neighborhood, where the carabinieri stopped a car with foreign license plates in which two men were traveling. In front of the officers, the Albanian presented his original Albanian license plate and passport, but could not explain why he was on Italian territory, as he did not have a valid residence permit.

According to Italian media, after an initial check that raised doubts about his identity, the Albanian was sent to the police station for more in-depth verifications, where it was discovered that the 42-year-old had previously been subject to a deportation order from the Bari Questura in 2023, with a ban on re-entry into Italy.

To avoid this ban, he returned to Albania and married, taking his wife's last name. With this new identity, he obtained new documents and illegally re-entered Italy, hoping that he would not be identified by the authorities. /CNA
