3300 pieces of clothing and hundreds of liters of smuggled alcoholic beverages/

Two attempts to smuggle goods have been foiled at the Port of Durres.

50-year-old AP was arrested for transporting 3,300 pieces of suspected clothing by truck that did not have accompanying documentation.

Meanwhile, a 54-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted after alcoholic beverages and 86 bottles of this product, suspected of being smuggled, were found in the pickup truck he was driving.

Police announcement:

PKK Port, Durrës/2 attempts to smuggle goods into Albania are foiled.

A citizen was arrested for transporting 3,300 pairs of clothes by truck without purchase receipts.

A citizen is being investigated for transporting hundreds of liters of alcoholic beverages in a pickup truck without receipts of origin.

The goods are seized.

Following the controls based on risk analysis and operational work that have been intensified at the entrance/exit of the Republic of Albania, with the aim of preventing and combating illegalities, and to guarantee the safe circulation of citizens and goods, the Border Police services of the port of Durrës intercepted 2 attempts to smuggle goods at the entrance to the Republic of Albania.

Specifically, for these cases:

-A citizen AP, 50 years old, resident of Shijak, was arrested in flagrante delicto, after 3,300 pairs of suspected smuggled clothing were found in the truck he was driving, as they did not have accompanying documentation;

-the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen Sh. D., 54 years old, resident of Rrogozhina, after quantities of alcoholic beverages and 86 bottles of this product, suspected of being smuggled, were found in the pickup truck he was driving, as they did not have accompanying documentation.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action. / CNA
