Zelensky fires all regional heads of Ukrainian military recruitment

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine today, during which he focused on the regional heads of Ukrainian military recruitment, The Guardian reports.

He pointed out that in many departments, "there are already 112 criminal proceedings against the officials of the 'military commissars' as well as 33 suspicions".

Zelenskiy said that the solution to this widespread corruption was to dismiss all regional leaders.

"This system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery during war is treason," Zelenskiy said on Telegram. 

"Instead, soldiers who have crossed the front or who can't be in the trenches because they've lost health, they've lost limbs, but they've kept their dignity and don't have cynicism, are the ones who can be trusted with this equipment system." / CNA
