The Director of Prisons of Kosovo, Ismail Dibrani, issued a statement about the murder of Liridona Ademaj.

He informed that the four suspects for the murder of Liridona are staying in four different institutions.

According to him, the suspects did not have the opportunity to communicate with each other during their stay in prison.

"Under no circumstances, at no time, are persons of the same offense placed in the same room. They can be placed in the same prison, but of course the routines and walks must be organized so that they do not have contact with each other. Also, due to the serious situation and the debate that has developed in almost all the media in Kosovo, we initially put them because their crime was serious and they had to be put in the High Security Prison. As a result of this, they are assessed with very high risk until the meeting of the committee for categorization, which decides for the future how they will be treated. But taking into account the debate that has developed in the public opinion and the case had already reached proportions outside of Kosovo, we had to consult with the State Prosecutor to distribute them to different institutions",  he declares.

According to him, the fourth person, who is suspected of having supplied Naim Murseli and Granit Plava with the crime weapon, Dibrani has been sent to another prison.

"The four suspects have been placed in four different institutions, in the High Security Prison, in the Prishtina Prison, in the Detention Centers in Gjilan and in the Detention Center in Peja," added Dibrani.

Liridona Ademaj was killed on November 29, 2023 on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Pristina, Kosovo./ CNA
