Massacre with 14 victims in Prague/ The Czech Republic declares Saturday a day of mourning

Saturday has been declared a day of national mourning in the Czech Republic.

The decision was taken after yesterday's massacre in Prague, where a gunman killed 14 people and seriously injured 24 others at a university.

The author was executed by the police, while he was identified as David Kozak.

Foreign media reports that the perpetrator was an excellent student, with no previous criminal record, but had psychological problems.

He opened fire yesterday in the corridors and halls of the university, shooting anyone who got in his way.

Teaching staff and students used furniture to protect themselves in the rooms.

Police officials believe that among others, Kozak had earlier killed his own father in his hometown.

After the murders in the series, it is suspected that he planned to kill himself as well./ CNA
