The Democratic Party of Kosovo has reacted after the end of the constitutional deadline for electing the President, describing this moment as a defense of the constitutional order in the country.

According to the party's statement, attempts to advance a process that, according to it, went outside the framework of the Constitution, have failed. PDK emphasizes that in this way the institutions and democratic functioning of the state have been preserved.

The PDK has criticized the current government, holding it responsible for the current political situation. In response, it mentions ongoing political crises, problems in governance, and economic challenges that, according to it, have worsened the situation in the country.

Referring to recent developments, this party assesses that Kosovo is entering a new electoral phase. In this regard, it has called on the acting president, Albulena Haxhiu, to announce the date of the elections within the deadlines set by the Constitution and to guarantee a fair and transparent process.

At the same time, PDK has appealed to citizens to participate in the elections and, through their vote, provide a new political direction for the country.

Finally, the party emphasizes that the country needs stability and functional institutions, underlining that decision-making now remains in the hands of citizens through the electoral process./ CNA
