Failure to elect the president/ Kurti: The process was boycotted by the

After the failure of the sessions to elect the new president of Kosovo, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in a statement to the media, stated that this process was boycotted by the opposition.

According to Kurti, this happened because they do not want power to be in the hands of the LVV, but it is a choice that the people of Kosovo make to be led by the one they choose.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stressed that democracy and institutions do not only require support and politicians for certain parties, but also the will of the people.

"Today it has been 4 months since the last elections in Kosovo, not four years, and here we are in a session that is boycotted by the opposition. Only four months after the elections, they want elections again, they are aware that elections are not a solution, they do not want responsibility, they do not want power, but they want us not to have this either. But this is not decided by them, but by the people of Kosovo. After a 5-year government, support for us has increased, it is difficult to find anywhere else a government that has gone through numerous crises, from the COVID-19 pandemic, then to the inflation and energy crisis, then to the continuous attacks of Serbia and has emerged victorious on all levels and in the end has also received greater popular support. And so it will be. But democracy and institutions do not only want support and politicians for certain parties, and this is where the anti-state behavior of certain parties lies," Kurti said.

Now, with the failure of the sessions to elect a new president of Kosovo, the country is expected to go to early elections again.

This is the third time that Kosovo will go to elections./ CNA
