Today, the Vatican will host the Mass that officially begins the papacy of Pope Leo XIV. The Mass is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

Religious and political figures from around the world will be present at this ceremony, to mark the start of the Catholic Church's new journey under the leadership of the newly elected Pope.

Today, a high-ranking state delegation from Albania, represented by the President of the Republic Bajram Begaj and Foreign Minister Igli Hasani, is participating in the ceremony of the holy Papal inauguration of Pope LEO XIV.

From the Catholic Church, the President of the Episcopal Conference (KISH), Archbishop Gjergj Meta, and the Vice-Presidents of KISH, Archbishop Simon Kulli and Archbishop Arjan Dodaj, will be present.

Part of the delegation from the Orthodox Church will be His Grace Nikolla, Metropolitan of Apollonia and Fier, and Father Ignat Todri.               

Bujar Spahiu and Ejup Lila will be present from the Muslim Community.

From the World Bektashi Patriarchate, Patriarch Baba Mondi will be present, as well as journalist Ferdinand Samarxhi.

The delegations are accompanied by the Ambassador of Albania to the Vatican State, Ms. Majlinda Frangaj.

The liturgy will mark the official beginning of his ministry as successor to the Catholic high office./ CNA
