Preliminary results of local elections in Turkey / Erdogan, at a disadvantage

About 61 million residents in Turkey went to the polls today to elect new local leaders for the next 5 years.

The local media have published the first results of the elections.

So far the largest opposition party CHP is in the lead. So far it is winning in 36 cities.

From the preliminary data, it appears that CHP has been reconfirmed in big cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, etc.

On the other hand, President Erdogan's party has only won a few small towns.

We remind you that the main battle of these elections is Istanbul and the country's capital, Ankara.
