Preparations for an escape/ Greek police raid prison cells in Korydhalos

Greek police authorities today carried out raids on several cells, as a measure to prevent an escape attempt by prisoners from Koridhalos prison.

Information reaching the police reported that criminals in a specific wing of the prison were preparing for an escape, while dealing drugs, laundering illegal proceeds, and transferring funds illegally.

During the searches conducted in the cells, a total of 8 people were arrested, as in each case 20 pharmaceutical tablets, an improvised knife, 3 improvised razors, 5 mobile phones, 2 charging cables and a plug, 2 chargers, a smart watch and a pair of headphones were found and confiscated.

The case files that were formed will be submitted to the competent prosecutor's office, while the knife, razors and technological products will be sent for laboratory analysis to the Criminal Investigations Directorate. /CNA
