Trump-Zelensky-Putin meeting/ Budapest, a possible location for trilateral talks

The White House appears to be considering Budapest, the capital of Hungary, as a possible location for a trilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a source told US media.

According to reports, the US Secret Service has begun preparations for the summit in the Hungarian capital, which has emerged as the administration's first choice.

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt was asked several times today about the location of any such meeting, but declined to comment. She did not respond to reports that Budapest was being considered, or that Moscow had been suggested by the Kremlin.

Foreign media mention that, seemingly, Budapest could be a difficult choice for Zelensky, as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has long been seen as a close ally of Putin. /CNA
