Hackers do not stop / Another cyber attack in Kosovo

Telecom of Kosovo announced that on September 13 it faced cyber attacks.

Through a press release, the mobile services operator, Vala, made it known that even though "the attacks have continued", Telekom has managed to return the affected internet services to the mobile and landline network.

This is the second time this month that institutions in Kosovo report that they have been the target of cyber attacks.

On September 6, the Government of Kosovo announced that the websites of state institutions were the target of a cyber attack.

The government said that this attack was carried out from abroad, but did not specify more.

Other countries in the region have also recently faced cyber attacks. Albania reported one in July and one in September. For both attacks, Tirana blamed Iran and on September 7 severed diplomatic relations with Tehran.

Otherwise, Telekom i Kosova is a public company, transformed into a joint-stock company. It operates fixed and mobile telephony, Vala. Vala has over 1.2 million customers nationwide./ REL
