The government of North Macedonia has approved the decision to revoke the Macedonian citizenship of the Ukrainian oligarch, Oleksandr Onyshchenko.

He was granted Macedonian citizenship on May 31, 2021, based on his "clean record", at the proposal of the Equestrian Sports Federation, while the Agency for Youth and Sports, the Macedonian Olympic Committee and the National Security Agency gave a positive opinion ( ANB).

But the granting of Macedonian citizenship caused many reactions, since Onyshchenko is a fugitive from justice in Ukraine and is sanctioned by the United States.
