Former Russian Deputy Justice Minister found dead in his apartment

Russia's former deputy justice minister, Sergei Tropin, has been found dead in his apartment in central Moscow. Russian media reported that the former official's body was found in the bathroom, and that he had apparently drowned.

Sergei Tropin served as deputy justice minister from February 1996 to March 1997 under President Boris Yeltsin, who in May 1996 awarded him the highest rank of State Counselor of Justice, First Class.
