Wives of Russian soldiers protest in Moscow/ About 30 of them are arrested

Russian police on Saturday arrested around 30 people in central Moscow who were taking part in a protest rally against the authorities' military mobilization to fight in Ukraine. The announcement was made by 'OVD-Info', a group that monitors respect for human rights.

Wives of Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine gathered near the Kremlin wall to lay flowers at the monument to the Unknown Soldier.

The organization announced that most of those arrested were journalists, adding that some of them were later released.

Likewise, a number of people were arrested in other places in the center of Moscow, reported 'OVD-Info'.

A growing number of Russian women are demanding the return of their mobilized husbands, sons and brothers from the front following a decree issued by President Vladimir Putin in September of last year./ VOA
