Knife attack in Paris, three people injured

As a result of a knife attack on Saturday morning in Paris, three people were injured. The incident took place at the Gare de Lyon railway station, the authorities announced, adding that at this stage of the investigation, they have ruled out terrorism as a motive for the incident.

The police arrested the suspect, who according to the authorities showed signs of mental disorder. Paris police chief Laurent Nunes told reporters that medication had been found on him, suggesting he was being treated for an illness.

Two of the victims were slightly injured, while a third was more seriously injured, but his life is out of danger.

The perpetrator of the attack, who had an Italian residence permit and was legally in France, carried out the attack with a knife and a hammer.
