The trial against the former leaders of the KLA / The first session in The Hague ends, the accused are declared innocent

The first day of the trial of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army at the Special Court in The Hague has ended.

The former KLA commanders have been notified of the charges of war crimes against them, by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office.

The judge asked the defendants to plead again for the completed indictment for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Hashim Thaçi said "I am completely innocent", Veseli declared himself "completely innocent", Selimi stated that "I am innocent in all points of the indictment", while Krasniqi said that he has "no connection with the points of the indictment".

We remind you that the accused have been in the custody of the Court of The Hague, in the Netherlands, for two and a half years.

The following day, the hearing is expected to take place where the lawyers of those accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity will speak, starting at 09:00./ CNA.al
