The trial of the former leaders of the KLA begins

In the Special Court, the trial begins today against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, whom the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor claims have committed war crimes.

The former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, will appear before the Special Court in The Hague, to be judged on charges that link them to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

They have been in the detention center in The Hague since November 2020. In their appearances before the pre-trial judge, they pleaded not guilty.

While in their support, on the eve of the start of the trial, a march was held in Pristina.

Meanwhile, today in The Hague, near the building of the Special Court, Albanians of the diaspora will gather in a peaceful protest to show their support for the accused and the fight of the KLA.
