Trump is preparing for the battle at the court hearing in New York

The former US president's lawyer has indicated that Donald Trump is preparing for a battle ahead of his scheduled court hearing on Tuesday.

Trump is expected to fly to New York City from his Mar-a-Lago home on Monday to face the charges.

He is planning to return to Florida after that, where he will address his supporters. Trump has continued to deny any wrongdoing.

His lawyer, Joe Tacopina, promised that any charges against the former president will be vigorously fought.

Trump is said to have met with his advisers and legal team to plan his defense before flying to New York.

The former president will be accompanied by members of the US Secret Service on his way to New York.

He is expected to surrender to authorities on Tuesday, with a hearing to take place in Manhattan.

Manhattan court will be closed in the afternoon for the hearing, his lawyer said. The former president will not be put in handcuffs, but Tacopina added that other details of the accusation are still a mystery./ CNA.al
