The IMF approves a loan of 15.6 billion dollars for Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that it has approved a loan program of 15.6 billion dollars for Ukraine at a time when the war with Russia continues, reports Anadolu.

Anadolu Agency reports that the four-year Extended Fund (EFF) agreement is part of the total support package of 115 billion dollars for Ukraine.

"The EFF-supported Ukraine program aims to balance policies that support fiscal stability, external stability, price stability and financial stability, as well as support economic recovery, enhancing governance and strengthening institutions to promote long-term growth in the context of reconstruction of the post-war period and Ukraine's path to EU membership," says an IMF statement.

The statement also said that the approval of the EFF is expected to mobilize large-scale concessional financing from Ukraine's donors and international partners to help solve Ukraine's balance of payments problem, achieve medium-term external sustainability and restore debt sustainability. /CNA
