Europol "dismantles" the criminal gang that trafficked fake diamonds

Europol has supported a large-scale operation led by Belgian law enforcement authorities to dismantle an Israeli organized crime group.

The criminal organization allegedly produced and imported luxury watches and counterfeit diamonds in Antwerp's Diamond District. 

The successful operation led to the arrest of 15 suspects in Belgium (11), Israel (2), the Netherlands (1) and Slovakia (1).

During the operation on March 12, the authorities also carried out 26 checks in Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands and Slovakia, resulting in the seizure of 65 luxury watches with counterfeit certificates, jewelry and other products; 200 diamonds; 209,000 euros in cash; guns, 14 kilograms of drugs, numerous electronic devices, including phones and computers; credit cards and financial documentation./ CNA
