Baggage full of mummified monkeys / How to justify the traveler at the airport

A US Customs and Border Protection dog sniffed something unusual in the luggage of a traveler returning from Africa. 

The passenger returning from a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo reported that the luggage contained dried fish, but an inspection at Boston's Logan Airport revealed the dead and dehydrated bodies of the four monkeys, agents said. 

The traveler said he brought the monkeys to the U.S. for his own consumption, Ryan Bissette, an official, said Sunday. 

Raw or minimally processed meat from wild animals is banned in the US due to the threat of disease.
