King Charles makes first public appearance since cancer diagnosis

King Charles was spotted heading to church on Sunday, making his first appearance since Buckingham Palace announced he had been diagnosed with cancer.

The king is seen smiling with his wife, Queen Camilla.

On Saturday, he thanked the people for the support offered.

According to him, all cancer sufferers know that those kind of congratulations are the best encouragement to keep going.

About 100 people gathered near the church on Sunday, wishing him good health from a distance.

He has suspended all public appearances while he is being treated for cancer and two senior royal figures - including Queen Camilla and the Prince of Wales - will appear in his place.

King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer while being treated in London for another health complication - an enlarged prostate.

Although the type of cancer he suffers from is not known, the Palace has confirmed that it is not prostate cancer./ REL
